Josie and the Pussycats - CMM Movie Spoof

Description

I really didn't like the 2001 live action "Josie & the Pussycats" movie. Since it was rated PG-13, there was language and sexual innuendos out the wazoo; two of my favorite characters in the cartoon (Alex and Alexandra) were barely in this movie; I didn't like how they cast some of the characters; I didn't like how some of the characters were written; the product placement in every single scene was kind of annoying; and the biggest thing of all . . . . . SEBASTIAN WASN'T IN THIS MOVIE!!!!!!

(I'm sorry, but the Crazy Cat Lady in me just finds this unforgiveable, especially since Sebastian was a major character in the cartoon)

So why am I giving the Pussycats a CMM movie poster spoof? Because this goes with a potential fanfic I may or may not write. I'm rehashing an old Camp Monkee Mallard story I wrote back in 2002 or so, which was somewhat inspired by the J&tPC movie. I mean, I thought the plot was interesting, but I felt it was just poorly executed.

Anyway, I found scans of J&tPC paper dolls that were produced in the 1970's, and used them to create this poster. My OC, Linda Blavat (known as Linda Stanley for this story) is featured in the poster because she's going to be joining the Pussycats as a keyboardist. I used the paper doll of Alexandra for her. Also, about their outfits, well, I just drew them like this because I wanted to. Get over it, purists.

Josie & the Pussycats belongs to Archie Comics/Hanna-Barbera

I didn't watch the real-life film all the way but I agree, it wasn't really impressive, especially with the exclusion of Sebastian, the "Crazy Cat Lady" in me finds this more than just unforgivable but appalling.

Anyhoo, this seems interesting, the outfits look neat too. :)
